At Simpson and Sons Sawmill every part of the tree is utilized. The bark is used for landscape mulch, the tree is sawed for lumber, the woodchips are sent to a local college to be used as fuel for their boilers for heat. The sawdust is utilized at the sawmill itself to heat the kilns and steamer.
